Dr. Meier is a Professor of Psychology at Gettysburg College, where he has taught courses on general psychology, social psychology, and statistics for 13 years. He received his doctorate in social psychology from North Dakota State University in 2005 after serving in the U.S. Army and working in the power generation industry. His research focuses on the areas of aggression, eating, emotion, mindfulness, personality, pro-social behavior, religion, and self-regulation. 

Dr. Meier has published 65 journal articles and multiple book chapters and edited books. He has received research grants from multiple agencies such as the Templeton Foundation and the National Confectioner’s Association. Dr. Meier has also served as a consulting editor for several journals.
