Marguerite Green

Sprout NOLA
Marguerite Green is a farmer and teacher from New Orleans. Marguerite studied Agriculture at Louisiana State University where her farming projects often collided with value added product development, specifically fermented hot-sauces and alcohol. Marguerite has been flower and vegetable farming for ten years and began exploring dairy farming and dairy ferments in 2013.

Since then she has focused on growing flowers and teaching young people about food and how it effects their bodies and their world. Marguerite Co-coordinates SPROUT NOLA, a grassroots organization offering technical assistance to farmers and gardeners and she teaches agriculture in the Culinary Arts department of NOCCA. Her favorite thing to make is yogurt and lactic acid fermented pickles.
